PATHS THAT LEAD NOWHERE: COMMENTARY ON AFRICANS VS. AFRICAN AMERICANS, by Kifon Emile, M.A.

What Holds it all together

Paths that lead nowhere is a book written by Heidegger in 1962 as an attempt to settle the endless argument on the origin of philosophy. At the time, many people held that philosophy originated in Greece while others believed it originated in Egypt.

Although, as a renowned modern philosopher, he could have taken sides by stating real facts in support of what he believed. However, he understood that, at some point, irrespective of established facts, people will always find arguments to oppose one view from the other. After examining the literature on Africans and African-Americans, it appears without any doubt that there is always an attempt to demonstrate how one is different from the other.

The worst part is that most of this literature tries to show how one is better and how or why the other is either unauthentic, unreliable or primitive etc. And what is true is literature is even truer in real life. Given a closer look, all these dispositions and attempts have been what can equally be called paths that lead nowhere; and rightfully so.

By paths that lead to nowhere, the argument here is not to say that both “cultures” are the same. It is irrelevant to emphasize on that. In the gamut of the myriad aspects on which one differs from the other, there is one point which seems to attract legitimate attention and merits reconsideration – consciousness.

Even when Africans and African Americans agree on a subject, it is believed that we don’t connect at the depth of our subconscious minds as one people (Dr. Steven Nur Ahmed).

However valid this point may sound, it enters into the list of paths that lead nowhere for the reasons set forth. Firstly, it shall be appropriate to ask if Africans as a whole connect with each other at some subconscious level. While each group may understand or sympathize with the practices of others, there is little evidence that the connection is there. Even Africans in the same country, the allegiance that they hold to their various tribes seems to be more important than a national identity.

As proof of this fact, the case of Africans in the United States remains very illustrative. Although being a minority group of immigrants, each group establishes close ties mostly with members of the same tribe or close tribes. In the Cameroonian community, there are French meetings as well as English ones. In the English section, it is divided into different meeting groups according to the various tribes. Despite efforts to establish a unified Anglophone or Cameroonian community that is closely netted together, the process is often a stalemate.

Also, if there is an African subconscious where everyone can connect, how can it be explained that other black Africans are killed and sent out of South Africa for no justifiable reason? Again, this is not simply a South African issue. Similar situations have happened in Angola against Congolese, in Nigeria against Ghanaians, In Cote d’Ivoire against those from Burkina Faso, in Equatorial Guinea against Cameroonians, In Kenya against Somalians, in Congo Brazzaville against Congolese from the Democratic Republic of Congo etc. What is regrettable is that this continues to happen in many parts of Africa on minor scales particularly in Northern Africa against those from the south. The question worth considering here is: how does one seek to establish a subconscious connection with African Americans when he is unable to establish that same connection with fellow Africans? And vice versa.

inter connections

Secondly, to understand how to connect subconscious minds of individual people, the simplest way is to be able to establish the content of what is in it. That is, it is easy to say this group doesn’t connect with the other for this abstract reason (be it subconscious). But upon investigating, the idea of subconscious connection is often used as a complex approach to describe the history, sentiments, fears and hopes of a people which have been embedded in their minds over a vast period of times. In other cases, it refers to a set of traditions or practices (values) of a people which enable them identify themselves with each member of the society without necessarily having to understand them individually.

So, in this regard, should we say that the subconscious mind is a fabric that enables us to identify ourselves to each other? Apparently. But this approach doesn’t resist firm critics because many Africans and African Americans have succeeded to establish very good relations with others who are not Africans: whites, Hispanics or Chinese. Regrettably, it should be mentioned that some Africans or African Americans easily connect with whites and others more than fellow blacks. Not only have they said it openly, but they easily develop disgust for things that are related to the party that they decide to oppose. This is nothing new to anyone…

It is this ease in the relations that some blacks develop with others (non-blacks) that it must be emphasized that the idea of connection with each other is not about the differences in our subconscious minds. It resides in something more.

To take a reverse analogy, if you are a very rich African in the USA or African American like Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, John Legend, Will Smith or Wiz Khaliffa, it would be very easy to gain respectability and connect with whites, Chinese and others – even at a subconscious level. They’ll understand you and you’ll understand them.

Yes, there are differences between cultures and they are real. But there is one thing that connects one people to another – mutual interest. Even the subconscious mind, in most cases, follow the same principle. We refuse to connect with one another because the other is seen as a liability: he does not provide the jobs, he might not have the opportunities that lead to those jobs, he can’t pay my bills, and his presence, ultimately is a threat to the little opportunity that I had in getting a job. Such are the patterns of mental processes which occur not only in the minds of Africans/African Americans, but also Chinese, Hispanics and all others. By stating this fact is not to show that people are greedy. It is simply a perspective of analyzing things – from the Marxist perspective where material conditions considerably determine mental processes.

Paths that lead nowhere is an argument that aims to show that most of the times, we have been investing our intellectual resources in the wrong direction – proving how better or different one is from the other. It also aims to show that we have failed in one fundamental which is demonstrating that the whole world looks at us in the same way and judges us by the same standards. And whether we succeed or fail does not depend on some abstract subconscious idea that most people forge from their unrefined laboratories, but whether we apply the basic principles by which great people live and on which great societies are built: MPH, Meritocracy, Pragmatism and Honesty (Lee Kuan Yew: founding father of Singapore – 1923-2015).

By meritocracy, our destiny depends on cultivating the cult of excellence in anything that we do and promoting those with the highest talent to the positions they deserve. By pragmatism, our success shall depend on investing on things that work. Everything has been invested, all we need to do is learn the best practices and apply them in a way that seem fit for the situation. Applying creativity and smartness. And by being honest, our image shall grow to be more positive, trust shall develop among each other and collaboration, partnerships shall flourish and dignity restored. Any other investment, trying to show that we African Americans are like this or we Africans are like that all lead to nowhere, and the outcome shall be nothing. They only make us more vulnerable.

In a recent post by Richard Branson featuring the most entrepreneurial countries in the world, Africa took the lead with Uganda at the first place and Cameroon at the fourth position. China was 11th. America and Europe did not feature in the first 15 countries while the least entrepreneurial countries featured japan, France, Sweden, Spain, Luxembourg, India, Ireland, Russia, Finland, Germany etc.

The first developed country to appear on the list was Australia at the 26th position. But there is a difference, most developing countries create business as a means of survival while in developed countries, it is a means of financial freedom. Developed nations, by choosing the best people (meritocracy) to lead them and being pragmatic, they have succeeded in making great companies and systems that would live over a long period of time. But this fact is just a reference that as black people in the world, we have the potential to achieve what others have already achieved.

So, how do you defend the interest of one another? Is is just by being the best you can be: striving for excellence, being pragmatic and honest. If any other theory is established in this document, then it is certainly a path that leads nowhere.

By acquiring these values, you’ll meet people with whom you’ll establish greater ties in order to achieve better things, and as a result, there shall be a subconscious connection between both of you. We cannot expect the best from a group by being the worst of ourselves. There is only one culture that makes sense and that is governance which incarnates itself in meritocracy, pragmatism and honesty. Or in theory form: participation, accountability, sustainability and transparency.

A deliberate attempt has been made not to mention the various ways in which one group views the other, how they are qualified and or how they oppose one another. By mentioning them, it shall be a way of perpetuating them and continuing on paths that lead nowhere.

THE OLD TESTAMENT IS TO THE MIND WHAT JUNK FOOD IS TO THE BODY, by Dr. Steven Nur Ahmed

scroll

Nothing in the Torah (Old Testament) makes futuristic reference to the United States or any other modern nation.

Nor does the Torah (Old Testament) predict any event that has occurred or is occurring today in the United States or anywhere in the world from the past times at which its 24 books were written.

Nor does the Torah predict the birth of any specific person who has ever existed in the past and up to the modern world.  Can you imagine all the microscopic spermatozoa and ovum which would have to be sorted out over millions of years by someone to make such a prediction! Can you imagine the magnitude of the mathematical analysis which would be needed in such an effort!

Nor does the Torah tell the history of most African people. The Torah has nothing to do with West and Southern Africa. It has nothing to do with African history in the United States.  It did not and does not predict the past and present predicament of African people in the United States.

Nor does the Torah tell an authentic history of Hebrew people who were an East African ethnic population who also lived on the African peninsula called today Arabia but which at least 1,600 years ago was included in Abyssinia and Mesopotamia and which at least 500 BCE was part of Kemet (Egypt).

The Torah is a mythological compilation of books written and redacted in 458 B.C. by Ben Ezra Abraham and a group of scribes after their captivity in Persia. It is relevant to only one group. They are called Jews.  It is a book of their traditions not yours.  It is a book which defines for them their cultural identity and language not yours. There is nothing you can do to change that because only children born of Jewish women are classified as ‘Jewish’. Yes, you can convert to Judaism, but orthodox Jews identify Jews by blood line.

Nor does the Torah convey to you how the universe and you came into being.  It is a montage of creation myths from Mesopotamia and Kemet (Egypt).

Does that make you afraid?  It should not make you afraid because the existence of God does not depend upon the existence of Jewish people or the Torah.  The existence of God is not dependent upon Jewish consciousness or anyone else’s consciousness because God is independent.

Negro urban ghetto churches and Mosques are full of those who interpret biblical passages in that way.  It has become a part of a Negro ghetto religious scam enterprise.  The scam artists do it to you because they know you are not skilled in the study of historiography and critical thinking. They also know that your ignorance and fears make you vulnerable to their lies.  Consequently, they make good money living off of you and your families. They sell to you false prophesies. Think for a moment. If the future could be predicted why can’t catastrophic events be avoided? Or why can’t African Americans avoid being poor and undereducated?

Such people claim that passages in the Torah are prophesies pointing from a past era identified in the Torah to what would happen in our modern world. That is a lie, too.  If you would study history then you would note that the same predictions were made one hundred years ago about the times and conditions prevailing then. Those predictions were false, too. Believing in such predictions will make you into a fatalist.

For example, if you are a descendent of slaves in the United States and your preacher or minister tells you that the enslavement of the Hebrews in the Torah is actually pointing to the enslavement of African people in the United States then think logically for a moment. What happens if you believe that?  Must African people also accept as their fate that they will suffer as did the Jews in Nazi Germany? Should African Americans resign themselves to the horrors of extermination camps?

You can conclude one thing for certain about any person who makes such a claim. He or she is a person who does not have divine knowledge.  Imagine yourself floating in space outside of any known galaxy without the possibility of death.  Just out there by yourself in total dark matter absent all light.  Now ask yourself: ‘what time is it?’ There is no answer to that question because there would be no present or future. There would be no time frame at all.  It is as impossible for Old Testament text to predict what will happen in modern time and space as it would be for you to predict in absolute dark matter what will happen to you there.

Historiography demands that you analyze what has happened in the past if you can get at the evidence and authenticate it.  But the best that you can do even if you have such evidence is draw more or less cogent inferences about patterns of change that have occurred which suggests similar probable outcomes.  That will require you to do hard intellectual work.  That would be like cooking a good nutritious non- GMO meal from scratch at home. It will take some work but it is better for you and will cost you less money.

Judas Goats: Baa Baa Black Sheep Have You Any Wool? Yes Sir, Yes Sir, Three Bags Full. One Fo Da Master, One Fo His Dame, …

Judas Goat

A Judas goat is a goat trained to gain the trust of an unsuspecting herd of sheep and then to lead them in a given direction for slaughter. The Judas Goat’s life is spared so it can mislead again and again.  In order for the Judas Goat to accomplish its goal it must sell snake oil.

Snake oil is the phrase used to identify fake cures sold to the public by those who hustle poor, desperate, fearful, and/or ignorant people. Snake oil can be something material or it can be emotional in nature.

 snake-oil

Snake oil is still being sold to you. The interesting fact is that if you watch and listen closely you can see a person telling you in the same media image frame that it works and at the same time telling you that he or she is lying.  You see, it’s because it’s not listed as an FDA approved drug but rather as some natural concoction like ‘water’. As long as you don’t say ‘it cures’ you can skirt around federal law and sell junk to the public as a ‘natural’ treatment for some disease.  People are duped because they are feeling insecure or fearful due to personal problems.

For example, Al Sharpton advertises a product for men who’s testosterone levels have decreased with aging and for which he gets paid MONEY to advertise.  But if you check it out, the product is not FDA approved.  Nor does Al Sharpton ever say that he has taken it. He has never said that his testosterone level has increased because of it. Does this picture of him look to you like his testosterone level is as high as a 20 year old man? Now, he might be on a prescription steroid because he has no muscle mass.

 al sharpton

If he ever did say that it measurably caused his testosterone level to increase he would never have a before treatment and after treatment measure of his testosterone levels to prove it to you. That’s because he is not doing science; he’s selling snake oil.  If he did that he’d be prosecuted by the federal government for misrepresentation and go to jail or be fined.   So, I can’t say he is lying, but I can say that he is using the trust that many have in him that he would not mislead them in order to sell to them snake oil for which he gets paid.

THE BROADER PICTURE

The early 20th century reveals to us some very important social, economic, and political patterns in very simple form. The early 20th century is an excellent classroom for that reason.  If we identify and define those patterns they allow us to understand our present day subjugation.  Understand, the conqueror is always steps ahead of you because that is part of what it means to have power over another group of people.

africa conquered

But before we identify some other Judas Goats we should first admit that: we African Americans are a conquered people.  That’s a historical fact.  Being conquered is a necessary reason for being enslaved; but slavery is not the only possible outcome of having been conquered.  So, to understand slavery you must first understand the nature of what it means to be a conquered people.

A conquered people are characterized by having no self-determination whatsoever. The conquered are subject to the physical, emotional, and psychological imprint of the conqueror. In short, the conqueror can do to the conquered whatsoever they will because the conquered have not equal or greater power to stop the conqueror.  If the conqueror wants to expend much physical energy to control us then the conqueror can repress us physically.  Over time the relationship between the conqueror and the conquered becomes sadomasochistic.

For example, if the conqueror wants to limit the population of the conquered people they simply put the men in prison, kill them, put toxins in their food and water, or keep them poor so they cannot or so they probably will not reproduce too many offspring. Then, the conqueror offers the women abortion by making the women think the men don’t want nor won’t financially support their offspring all the while the conqueror prevents the men from getting employment.

Abortion has been framed for the public as an exercise of women’s right to choose. In the woman’s mind that makes her think that she, first, will avoid what she cannot economically afford and, two, that choosing abortion is what makes her more powerful than her male counterpart who cannot legally intervene to stop her. In fact, both the conquered male and female are never defined by their humanity but rather as inferior humans.

The same holds true for psychological repression and suppression. And that is what takes us to the next level of our inquiry.   I’m going to list some pictures and tell you a few things about the persons. First, however, one historical fact: on May 3, 1917, the United States Army started a spy program which was to operate within the United States.  Now here is a picture of Emmett Scott with Booker T. Washington.

 Emmett_J__Scott_0

Emmett Scott is important for our identification of a pattern. He subscribed to the political tactic of Booker T. Washington (a Boule’ member, too) which was accommodation on the part of African Americans through industrial training, business enterprise, and subordination to Whites.  The training is not the problem; the doctrine of subordination is a problem. But Scott also worked for President Woodrow Wilson in 1917.

economix-18wilson-blog480

Woodrow Wilson was an avowed racist.  So, why did he hire Emmett Scott to his highest ‘Black’ post as ‘Advisor of Black Affairs’ to the Secretary of War, Newton Baker, at the very time Wilson was segregating all federal agencies and promoting Jim Crow laws in the States?  It is because Emmett Scott worked for the Army spy program. His job was to gather information on the actions of African Americans via a network of African American informants in churches and organizations.  Oh, one other fact, Emmett Scott was the head of the Boule’ fraternity (Sigma, Pi, Phi) also known as The Talented 10th at the same time.   The Boule members are genetic racists. They believe that a large number of African Americans are genetically unfit and should be sterilized.

 BouleLogo

Those patterns of the 20th century are discernible in the 21st century.

Parallel Strategy: the plutocrats choose who you will listen to by paying those persons money and by making them ‘media famous’. Religion is a case in point.

Freedom of Religious worship in the United States has become a license to exploit the poor. If you draw a time line and plot the origin and run of many urban religious cults, fraternities, and elite organizations you will see something very interesting.  For example:

A. Each ran parallel to Marcus Garvey’s movement which started May 1917.  Remember, Boule member Emmett Scott started spying for Woodrow Wilson in 1917.

  1. Each ran parallel to Paul Robeson’s socialist philosophy and activism for the working man and women, beginning in 1933.
  2. There were hundreds of minor and major African American religious cults that sprang up with literal idiots claiming to be God. Father Divine, Daddy Grace, King Narcisse, and Elijah Muhammad who claimed that Fard Muhammad was God but whose son Warith Deen Muhammad said that his mother said that Fard Muhammad never said that he was God.

Father Divine

  1.  Each cult left millions of dollars in tithes to Caucasian women or their offspring. For example: Father Divine, Daddy Grace, King Narsissy, Elijah Muhammad.
  2. Most of them promoted the Roman Emperor Constantine’s Christian doctrine and ritual on an illiterate African American population.
  3. Each took pieces of Garvey’s and Robeson’s ideas to fain social concerns.
  4. Each died comfortably in mansions.
  5. One fraternity recruited educated African Americans via Jewish assistance namely the Boule’ and or talented 10th.
  6. All were spied upon by the U.S. Army spy program: started in 5-3-1917.  W.E.B. Dubois, Robert Church (1st African American millionaire), Emmett Scott all worked for the army spy program.
  7. W.E.B. Dubois did not form nor fund the N.A.A.C.P., Jews and White Anglo Saxon Protestants did.
  8. African Americans did not form nor fund the National Urban League: Jews and White Anglo Saxon Protestants did.
  9. Each maliciously denigrated Marcus Garvey.
  10. All of the Boule endorsed and were paid to work for Eugenicist Margaret Sanger’s ‘Negro Project’ to sterilize African Women.
  11.  Tuskegee University: Booker T. Washington: Accommodation Plan (Booker T. Washington) v. integration (NAACP, et al)
  12. All African American mega churches and secular organizations were and ARE infiltrated by ‘African American’ paid informants.
  13. Roy Wilkins was a F.B.I. agent who spied on Dr. Martin Luther King for J. Edgar Hoover.

There is so much more you need to think on, but the point is that most of what we have identified are and were used as diversions to draw your attention away from ideas which the plutocrats know can cause major change in the community at large and in the African American community in particular. You were and are being lead by Judas Goats selling Snake Oil.

RAGGED AND POOR: THE COLD CALCULUS OF RACIST CAPITALISM

new poor and ragged (4)

Part 2

AFRICAN AMERICANS WERE BLOCKED FROM TECHNICAL INDUSTRIAL JOBS BY U.S. IMMIGRATION POLICY

When the United States was an agricultural economy, African people averaged 21% of the total population.  That lasted up to the beginning of the industrial revolution which started in 1860.  By 1930, the African American population had dropped by over 50% to 9.70% of the total population.[1]  What happened such that the population of African Americans dropped by over 50% in 70 years between 1860 and 1930?  What could the reasons be?

There weren’t any legal contraceptives, no legal abortion, nor was there an imbalanced sex ratio during that time.  So what could have happened during that time?  The only plausible answers are 1) a high infant mortality rate 2) a high maternity death rate, 3) a high mortality rate or a low average life expectancy of under 40 years of age for both men and women, 3) high death rate due to infectious disease, and 4) starvation due to malnutrition.  All of these factors are related to no medical or health care for most African Americans during that period.  Caucasian doctors would not treat African Americans despite their Hippocratic Oath to ‘do no harm’!  African Americans were not allowed service in ‘white’ hospitals. There were virtually no African American medical doctors.  Thus, because free African Americans lost value as slave labor capital they were not worth health care expenditures.

The drop in the percent of African Americans in the total population ran in an opposite direction to the influx of European immigrants into the north at the turn of the 20th century.  Even more significantly, the rise of the Caucasian population paralleled the rise of industrialization and industrial jobs.

Between 1890 and 1910, 12.5 million Europeans were allowed to immigrate to the United States and become citizens.  They were not admitted because they were needed as workers because there were millions of African Americans who were willing and able to work in the new industries.  In fact, Caucasian immigrants were living under deplorable urban conditions and they, too, became exploited laborers. However, some of them benefited by the Homestead Acts which gave to them and their descendants 10% of all U.S. land and thus wealth.[2]  Remember, African Americans were denied 40 acres and a mule. Clearly, the objective was to keep African Americans poor, dependent, and sick.

The facts suggest that industrial corporations and racist immigration policies purposely manipulated the populations of different ethnic groups to buffer elite Caucasians from African Americans living in industrial cities.  Consider these facts.

The demographic dispersion of African Americans spiraled out from the south; 53% remained in the south, 40% migrated north and northeast and 7% migrated to the western states primarily California.  Migrants were pulled by the attractive force of industrial employment opportunities.

Between 1915 and 1970, over 6 million African Americans migrated north and westward for industrial and governmental job opportunities.  Generally, during that time the industrial infrastructure had greater employment capacity than there were job demands on it except for some recessions and depressions.[3]  Keep in mind also that during that time ‘Jim Crow’ segregation became the law of the land.[4] Legal segregation would also be reflected in the industrial work place.

The Unites States was in full industrial throttle between 1860 and 1900.  Correlated with increasing industrialization was a steady process of technological innovation.  The irony is that capital in the form of machines would eventually erode the types of jobs available to African Americans who represented manual labor capital. The logic was incontrovertible; machines could do manual type jobs faster, more efficiently, and cheaper than even lowly paid African Americans.

Today, 20% of African Americans work in the public sector while 76% work in the private sector. Only, 3.8 percent are self-employed.[5]  But even more telling are these statistics:  African Americans are least employed in professional, scientific, technical services (5.9% of total employed), education (10% of total employed) and construction (8.4% of total employed).  These facts underscore the thesis of this article which is that the fate of African Americans is determined by the cold calculus of racist capitalism because these are the fields which drive industry and now the information industries.

The Political Reasons

Another purpose was to insure that ‘whites’ would be plentiful as labor capital (workers) in the growing industries.  That they would have the better industrial jobs, and even more significantly learn and keep under control within their race the higher technical skills used in industries, and of course over generations they would remain a buffer between owners and union members against African Americans.[6] Their children and grand-children would become the middle class of the 20th century.

In the 21st century a similar pattern is clear. The information based economy or service economy which is now dominant in the U.S. is massaging another retooling of the ethnic composition of the United States. Here, Congress, again, is using immigration law as a tool to design our national ethnic composition.

The African American population has been in steep decline since 1972.  That along with a 2013 proposed immigration bill would allow 11 million non-legal aliens legal residency and mushroom the Latino population overnight to over 60 million persons along with a whole new population of illegal aliens.  Such a law would be biased in favor of Latinos as evidenced in the growth of their population over the past 20 years. It will also diminish employment opportunities for African Americans because most African Americans do not speak Spanish and Spanish would become a qualifying factor for most employment selections in the service industries.

CIVIL RIGHTS ARE NO LONGER OUR MAIN ISSUE, by Dr. Steven Nur Ahmed

C=B:E. Learn this equation because your life may depend upon it.  It means that the carrying capacity (C) of any given environment increases or decreases as the biotic potential (a living being’s potential to have offspring)(B) goes up or down in relation to resistance by the environment (E) going up or down.  For example, I once lived on a 500 acre farm in Mississippi during the 1950s.  My grandfather had 16 children. Now there were 18 persons on the land. They were each given an acre or two on which to build a home when they married.  Each of the sons and some of the daughters married and then built homes for themselves on the family farm.

They in turn had over 8 or 9 children. So now that original 2+16=18 had become 2+16×9 or approximately 160 descendents plus my grandfather and grandmother (162). By the mid 1950s, the number of grandchildren had become so numerous that it became impossible to apportion land to each grandson upon their marriage because to do so would have decreased the agricultural capacity of the farm and its gross domestic product or put another way it would have reduced how much commodities the farm could produce in a year. Also there was the risk that over use of the soil would have depleted it as well as water resources. All of that over time would have decreased the amount of surplus produce and money earned each year thus slowly causing each family to suffer a decline in their overall quality of life.

Those 160 grandchildren grew to maturity and started to have children.  Even if each of them had but 5 children apiece which was normal in the mid 1950s it would have constituted 2+16+160×5=818 more family members. Therefore it was no longer feasible to continue the tradition of giving direct descendents an acre or two from the land and a share in the wealth produced by the farm. The carrying capacity of the farm land was reduced by the resistance of the environment to any further population growth because there were too many mouths to feed and not enough resources to insure that each new generation could get from the farm an equal or greater share of its resources.  It was impossible to maintain a reasonable standard of life for all. It was a clear example of the law of diminishing returns.

THE LAW OF DIMINISHING RETURNS

The law of diminishing returns is applicable on a worldwide basis, too.  There are over 7,100,063,581 (billion) people on earth right now as of this writing.[1] Each generation of people in developing nations want to live an American lifestyle and so want to live in cities and have more material luxuries than what the previous generations had. Our world population will increase to over 9 billion in two decades. But at the same time in the more industrialized countries fertility rates are decreasing to far below replacement levels.[2] That indicates that later this century (2048 or 2050) our world population is going to nose dive and it may never recover. It may not recover because the environment will resist human recovery because the environment will not meet the basic needs of human beings worldwide.

Note this, 50% of all life is supported by the oceans and seas and 80% of the world’s human population lives on coastal regions. Big sea life stocks are down by 90% since 1950 and most stocks are predicted to collapse by 2048 because of new bottom trawling and dredge techniques for fishing.[3] Now, approximately 1000 species of animal go extinct every year compared to just 3% per year for hundreds of thousands of years. Fresh water lakes are drying up, too. For example, Lake Mead in Nevada is at an all time low; Lake Chad in Africa is virtually dried up.

None of these facts are a surprise to government experts. Their studies anticipated these conditions decades ago and are correlated with global population growth. They also predicted even worse conditions to come in the 21st century.  Some people will argue that there are moral reasons such as greed and waste which are the causes of the problems cited above.  Other people will argue that the cause of our problems is the irresponsible use of modern fossil burning technologies. Still other people will argue that our problems are unavoidable and therefore are the inevitable outcome of ‘divine command’ necessity even though there are hundreds of religions throughout the world with different divine command prophesy each contradicting the other. The only thing that we can predict with absolute certainty about future human behavior is that we will seek out food and water and that we will reproduce offspring whenever possible.

The fact is there have been natural crises before which predate written history and all known religious world views.  For example, approximately 80,000 years ago natural disasters reduced the human population to about 2,000 individuals.[4] So, what we face is neither solely due to immorality nor solely due to the burning of fossil fuels. The environmental problems we face are a combination of each. The fact is that we like every other life form on earth are subject to thousands of natural cycles which interplay with the demands which organic life makes on what for us are limited resources.

We are now at a hinge period in natural history and civil history.  It just so happens that both catastrophic natural changes and our moral decline are in sync. But even if we were doing fine morally we’d still be in decline. The fact that we are not doing fine morally means that we face a horrible nightmare. There is nothing that we can do to stop natural cycles from playing out to their natural end. Those forces do not conform to our logic and are absolutely impersonal in their operations.  We will not stop our moral decline either.

WHAT ABOUT US?

My 750 relatives migrated to the northeast, east and west coasts to find their means of support in large urban centers. They individually made more cash income and had between 3 and 6 children per household. Some bought homes and earned equity in those homes. Others rented. But whether they rented or bought their homes they shared a common economic loss; none of them were making, producing or growing things anymore. They didn’t pay attention to that because it was so convenient to just go to the grocery store for produce they once grew.  All of that reinforced an illusion of prosperity but in reality they were becoming poorer.

All seemed to be going well for a few decades. My folks plunged head first into the golden age of materialism in America. But what they didn’t see was the coming of an economic tsunami. Nor did the people who presented themselves as their leaders see it coming. The complexities of urban life started to erode the moral basis of their traditional upbringing. Crime went up especially drug use. Drugs, like crack cocaine, were imported into their neighborhoods to siphon off their surplus cash income. For those reasons and many others, mothers and fathers began to increasingly walk away from their children and never to return.  The family was broken and under the circumstances it will be impossible to put the traditional family back together again because it was born of a different soil.  Then they found themselves surrounded by a different culture in which homicide and suicide became normative.

To compound the moral crisis facing my folks they then got a hard lesson in capitalism. Major corporations started to relocate overseas to exploit cheap labor and to avoid taxation.  Now in the cities without as many factory jobs, cash flow started to dry up. Reality started to set in during the 1980s. African American unemployment numbers started to increase while an annual 3% inflation rate eroded the value of the dollar while drugs and prison life eroded the moral fiber of whole neighborhoods.

Now thousands of my relatives and millions of other African Americans became stranded in economically broken cities like Detroit, Mich., Oakland, Ca. and Compton, Ca.; they are in deep trouble. But given all of that there is another piece of the puzzle they do not have; it is the demographic piece and none of the so called leaders are really telling us what is coming and coming soon.

Between 1946 and 1964, about 7,500,000 African Americans were born as part of the baby boom generation. By use of simple arithmetic we can see into the future. If we add 85 to 1965 it would make a person born in 1965 eighty-five years of age in the year 2050.  By that time most baby boomers will be dead. There would be by that time a total loss of 7,500,000 African Americans.  Over that 19 year period beginning in 2031 leading up to 2050, our folks will suffer an increasing death rate due to many health related causes correlated with a decreasing fertility rate which is now (2013) at below replacement (1.9 babies per women 15 to 44) and the largest population decline in their history.  Things will never be the same.  We can see in the present demographic figures the answer to the question ‘why?’

The birth rate for married African American women was 137.3 per 1000 women between the ages of 15 and 44 in 1950. That birth rate peaked in 1959; 1959 was the year that the birth control pill was approved by the FDA. By the year 1997, the birth rate for married African American women was 70.7 per 1000 women ages 15 to 44. That is a near 50% decrease in the birth rate. At the same time there was a corresponding increase in births to unmarried African American women. Beginning in 1946, the number of births to unmarried African American women was 17.3 births per 1000 or 17%; by 1995 it reached 50.5 per 1000 or 70% of all births to unmarried African American women ages 15 to 44.

In 2005, the ratio of live births to abortions for married African American women was 71.9 births to 18.8 abortions. Conversely, unmarried African American women are more likely to abort their fetus. The facts compel us to conclude that African American women are more likely to carry their baby to term if they are married. But the trend is toward fewer and fewer marriages in the future.  The decline in the marriage rate is correlated with a rise in abortion.  The conclusion? Destroy the black family and they will terminate their own black fetuses.

From 1973[5] to 2011, there have been 54,559,615 reported abortions in the United States. Of that number, 72% were done by African American women. That equals 39,282,922 abortions over a 40 year period.  The ratio in 2005 for unmarried African American women is 67.8 births to 62 abortions. Between 1993 and 2005 for every birth there was an abortion among unmarried African American women.  This is an ethnic catastrophe.

What we are compelled to infer based upon these facts is that the abortion rate and/or birth control to prevent birth will probably remain high at over 48 per 1000 African American women over the next ten years. Two factors make this likely. The children of the baby boomers are the most physically unfit and culturally maladjusted generation of African Americans to ever live. Secondly, the unmarried rate will likely remain high or increase. Approximately 73% of African American women are unmarried. Thirdly, sexuality is independent of marital status.  It adapts to all circumstances. Water conforms to the vessel into which it is poured.

We need not make a moral judgment regarding abortion and a women’s right to choose for us to have common ground upon which to agree that there will be catastrophic consequences for all African Americans alive during the later part of the 21st century for the high abortion rate and declining marriage rate.  We should start now to prepare ourselves for what is to come.

WHAT OF OUR LEADERS?

Civil rights is no longer the big issue. We have been given all the civil rights that we will ever get in America. The civil rights bag is empty. We African Americans are actors on the vast stage of human history in this hinge period. Global changes are quickly reducing the carrying capacity of the earth itself and we are on it and so we too are in trouble. There are going to be unimaginable changes. We are not prepared for those changes in whatever form they take.

So called African American civil rights proponents who continue to apply the same strategic formula that Dr. Martin Luther King did in the 1950s and 60s would have you think that the most pressing issue or set of problems facing African Americans today in 2013 are those same civil rights issues of the last 200 years.  They are political whores for the major democratic and republican parties; they are turned out to turn tricks for those parties to get for them ‘black’ votes. They are used by the elite as distractions from the more pressing issues we face. They are wrong and it may cost us many lives if we do not see through their fallacious arguments.

THE PARADIGM SHIFT

The strategies of Dr. King were tooled for the constitutional issues and civil rights circumstances of a particular era. Those unique circumstances which existed in the 1950s and 60s are no longer central issues for us. For example, much of the industrial base of the Unites States has relocated outside the United States and thus no longer exists in urban centers such as Detroit Michigan and Oakland California; they are not coming back. The economic non-employment participation rate for African Americans is 41.8%[6]. The high school dropout rate in most urban centers is over 50% for African American males. African Americans give over $1,000,000,000 (trillion) dollars away every year and over 33% of our people live in poverty. These are not the government’s problems. The Constitution does not mandate government to make jobs for its citizens; it was established to protect constitutional rights, to defend against foreign enemies, to enforce civil and criminal law, and to take a census every 10 years.

Therefore, for these and other reasons the civil rights strategies are not applicable to the problems which we face today because today’s problems are economic and moral through and through. Our problems today are different by nature and will not be solved by mass public demonstrations.  We must evolve a new family structure which will be efficient in the socialization of our children. We must keep our money. We must pool our money. We must build our capital. We must publicly shame those who don’t.
